How it started.
Shot In Focus started in Crestview as a portrait business first — family sessions, seniors, newborns, pets. The real estate division came later, in 2020, when a few agents in town asked if Roy could shoot a listing or two. They liked the results enough to ask again. Word moved through brokerages the way it usually does — quietly, between agents who didn't want to lose their photographer to anyone else.
Six years on, the division has shot more than a thousand listings across Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa counties. Most are repeat clients. None of it came from advertising — it came from delivering the same job, the same way, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
How we work.
The shoot itself is the easy part. The hard part is showing up on time every time, getting the lighting right whether the home faces east or west, and getting the photos back to the agent before the next morning so the listing can hit MLS without losing a day.
Three days a week, by design. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Three days is enough capacity to handle the agents who book us regularly without the quality drift that creeps in when a photographer overcommits.
Every shoot includes free FAA-certified drone where regs permit. Most competitors in this market charge $75–$150 extra for aerial. We bundle it. The reason is simple: a real estate listing on the Emerald Coast that doesn't include an aerial shot is a listing that doesn't sell as fast.
Hand-finished editing. Every image gets a careful Photoshop pass — perspective correction, exposure balancing, color, and the small fixes most photographers skip: a slightly crooked picture frame, a piece of clutter in the corner, the halo around a window mullion. The result reads like a professional photographer's work because it is one.
What you get.
A consistent partner who's been on the Emerald Coast long enough to know which rooms in a Bluewater Bay home photograph best at 10am, where the drone gets buzzed by Duke Field traffic, and what the agent at your brokerage usually likes for cover shots.
You also get a person who's easy to work with. Self-serve online booking. A confirmation email the moment you book. A reminder the day before. Photos in your inbox the next morning. The whole experience is built to be invisible to you — show up at closing with great photos and a happy seller.
