A photographer who knows the Shalimar market.
Shalimar sits quietly between Fort Walton Beach and Niceville — a small bayou-front community with a strong military presence (Eglin AFB is just to the east) and established residential neighborhoods. The market here is dominated by primary residences, and the photography reflects that: warm, livable, honest.
Since 2020 we've shot more than 60 Shalimar listings. The pace is slower here than in Destin or Crestview, but the quality of agents and the consistency of repeat business has made it one of our most enjoyable corners of the service area.
What makes Shalimar work for photography
Mature trees and varied homes. Shalimar's older neighborhoods have something Destin and the newer Crestview subdivisions don't: established landscaping. The trees, lawns, and curb appeal tend to photograph better than newer-construction lots — fewer brown patches, less raw fence line.
Bayou and Garniers Bayou frontage. A meaningful subset of Shalimar listings are waterfront or near-waterfront. Drone is essential on these — buyers expect to see water access and boat-out potential from the air.
Drone is mostly clear here. Shalimar sits just outside the tighter Eglin restricted zones; most properties are fully Part 107 flyable with standard operations.
